AssetReader-WEB Frequently Asked Questions

What is different from AssetReader to AssetReader-Web?

AssetReader is a desktop application.  Some users wanted additional features and a web supported product.  The core difference is not just desktop vs. browser-based software, it is that AssetReader-Web allows the borrower to upload the data for the borrowing base and other reports all at once AND with lender permissions, the borrower can calculate ineligible collateral and adjustments.  Because te borrower and lender are using the same calculations, the rework from the lender is greatly reduced.

Are the setups and files different between AssetReader and AssetReader-Web?

Both products use the same file.  This is great news for our existing users that have setup hundreds of files.  The desktop can read and write to the same files as the web version and there is no need to transfer between files, it is one file for both.

Can I see a comparison of the versions?

Yes — We have that on this website in a Compare Versions page.

Can we limit what the Borrower can see and do?

Yes     The system allows setups for the borrower to be upload only or the settings, input screens and reports can be enabled or disabled on a per screen and per report basis.  Options include "Read/Write", Read Only, Off.  This allows for flexibility for specific user types such as Loan Processors, Account Officers / Account Executives, Borrows, etc.

Is this Hosted or Hybrid Hosted?

We've got options.  We can host the website and data or provider a specific server for just your entity.  We can provide the entire site and API service for full in-house hosting.

Can Borrowers run AssetReader-Web without the Lender providing it?

Yes     We have a fully hosted version that allows a borrower to run the AssetReader-Web system.  In general, FinSoft will do the setup of the mapping for the files (for a fee) and then the borrower can run the reports in seconds at any time (daily, per borrowing, weekly, monthly, etc.).  The Borrower can then make reports available to a lender by creating an Excel workbook.  Alternatively, the lender can pay a small fee to access the data directly form the same system.
